Our interest lies in the flattery a tape machine can provide... the muscular bloom of a transformer and the thickness of a vacuum tube...the depth of field, wide soundstage, and headroom only an analog desk can deliver...using a 50’s Fender tube amp instead of a plugin...a large diaphragm tube microphone pointed at a 60 year-old stand up bass...listening to several tape machines and choosing the one that works for the material.
